Aim Research in Merewether has been selected to conduct a study investigating the use of a medication, that may improve weight related obstructive sleep apnoea and improve general health in participants with Type 2 Diabetes.

To complete this study, we are looking for volunteers who:

1) Have diagnosed obstructive sleep apnoea.
2) Have Type 2 Diabetes.
3) Are only taking tablets for their diabetes (no insulin or other injectables).
4) Are ≥ 18 years old.
5) Are Overweight or obese.

The potential benefits of participating in this study include improvement to weight-related comorbidities, including sleep apnoea, hypertension, cholesterol and diabetes. Participants will be provided with frequent expert medical care including lifestyle management counselling, coaching and support.

Those who choose to volunteer and meet the eligibility criteria will participate in the study for around 80 weeks, visiting our clinic in Merewether up to 24 weeks during this period for review and to collect their study medication. Physical examinations, sleep tests, blood tests and patient reported questionnaires will be used to track the participant’s safety and progress throughout the study.
